Client: MAZED, Traditional Tales from South East Cornwall.
Narrated by Bill Chubb
Mazed is a project which collects culturally distinct stories of place, to see them told again in ways old and new. Cornwall is a land of myth and legend. Cornish stories were call drolls, and wandering droll tellers travelled the high-hedged lanes, stopping at isolated farmsteads or busy mining villages to trade tales in return for a bite to eat and bed for the night.
They told tiles about the places they visited: the village where the old witch lived, the cove where the mermaid swam, the huge piles of rocks on the moor, the farm where the piskies helped.
'The Hare of Looe' belongs to a collection of 12 tales that have been chosen by the children who live in the places where the stories are set.
